Breaking Ground: Car Park Construction Commences

BREAKING GROUND: We're excited to share with you today the first exciting new step of Redeemer's Master Plan as we break ground on our new car park facility. This long-awaited project will improve traffic congestion and road safety on Rochedale & Priestdale Roads.

Redeemer's new Priestdale Road car parking facility will include:

  • Parking for 70 additional vehicles on the College campus
  • Additional drop-off zone - will be a congestion buster for our main Rochedale Road car parks, by providing additional pick-up and drop-off zones.
  • A bus turnaround area and covered bus waiting area is also being included as part of the project which will relieve pressure on our front car parks and provide a safe location for students to board and disembark our buses.
  • Sustainability is also a key focus of the College and the car park will have provisions to charge electric cars in the future and the second stage will see the installation of solar panels on the car park shade sails.

The Priestdale Road and Carpark project is costing approximately $1.5 million, with around $340,000 coming from the State Government in the form of an External Infrastructure Subsidy Scheme grant.

This project plays a key component in Redeemer’s Master Plan by providing access to our first major project, the Innovation Hub, where plans are well underway for an anticipated 2022 construction start date.
