From RLC to the Silver Screen

Demis Lyall-Wilson (Class of 1993)

Alumni from the early-90s might remember Demis Lyall-Wilson (class of 1993) as a regular fixture within RLC’s various music groups, but you might not realise you’ll have seen his work a little more recently: up on the silver screen.

Having made the jump from music to film in his twenties, Demis has spent the last 15 years working on visual effects for some of Hollywood’s biggest films and franchises. With a couple of Star Wars films under his belt, you’ll have also skipped past his name in the credits for several Marvel movies, and a long list of hits such as James Bond, The Great Gatsby, and Prometheus. Most recently, he completed work on Disney’s Aladdin, working with legendary effects house, Industrial Light & Magic to create the Genie’s iconic ‘lamp rub’ moment! (

Now based permanently in London, the pixels don’t quite stop there: Demis spends half his year as a published fashion photographer (see his work over on instagram: @demislw), currently spending the long English summer surrounded by couture, makeup, and models, while preparing for an upcoming visual effects adventure with Netflix.
