Helping Hands Celebrates 4th Birthday

On Wednesday 8 August, the Junior School celebrated the Helping Hands Van’s 4th Birthday at Redeemer Chapel! This was a celebration of four successful years of operation of the little yellow Helping Hands van. The Helping Hands van serves the Mt Gravatt community in partnership with Our Saviour Lutheran Church, providing fellowship and grocery items each Friday night.

In 2014 Redeemer Lutheran College and Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Rochedale formed a joint ministry with 'Helping Hands' to undertake a venture in our local community, reaching out to those who struggle with life and lend a helping hand. They could be people who find themselves isolated, sleeping outside or in hostels, less advantaged, or just enjoy a cuppa and chat on a regular basis.

A special thank you to all Junior School students and families who donated cans and food which will be distributed by our volunteers on the van each Friday night!
