Redeemer Commemorates ANZAC Day

As a growing college tradition over recent years, an ANZAC Dawn service was held on the Chapel Green on Tuesday 24 April as Redeemer’s special tribute to the ANZACs. Special thanks to all staff and students for organising this event, together with the community breakfast which followed the service, now in its seventh year.

Redeemer's Junior School and Senior School students came together for a combined whole school ANZAC Ceremony in Redeemer Chapel at 8.45am. This special service included partcipation by Redeemer's Senior Concert Band, in addition to the Australian Light Horse Association. We were blessed that Tpr Tom Dawson, and Redeemer past parent Tpr Philip Mostert from the Australian Light Horse Association, were able to bring along their vintage vehicles to our ANZAC commemorations. Our students loved the opportunity to check out the old vehicles following the service.

For the first time in many years, a contingent of over 40 Redeemer students from Prep to Year 12 marched alongside a number of staff in the local Springwood Tri-Services RSL Anzac Day parade and laid a wreath at the service that followed. A big thank you to the many students, parents and staff who supported this important occasion.  We look forward to this growing this tradition in the coming years as we honour the Anzacs. Lest we forget.
