Redeemer Music Tours Tasmania

Harrison Brown and Bronte Kelly with ‘Mr Pitch Perfect’, Deke Sharon

On the second Wednesday of the school holidays, 56 choral singers and 6 staff members left Brisbane on our tour to the Festival of Voices in Hobart, Tasmania.  Excited to share our music and embrace many experiences, Redeemer’s Senior Singers, Chorale and The Fellas spent the week sight-seeing, performing, undertaking workshops with national and international experts, whilst growing closer together as friends and as a music team. My personal favourite experience was our workshop with Australian choral composer, Paul Jarman. Not only was the music we learnt beautiful, but the stories and inspiration he shared with us and the other singers in the workshop made it even more special and beneficial. I would like to thank everyone who made this tour possible, and to all of our supportive and loving Redeemer music family for making the tour such an amazing experience for everyone.  Special thanks to Ms Tonkin for the leading and the organisation of the tour, ensuring we all had a wonderful and memorable time.

Many wonderful experiences and memories were created through the amazing Tasmania tour that The Fellas, Senior Singers and Chorale participated in this year. There were many beautiful sites that we visited throughout the tour such as the historical and eerie Port Arthur, as well as the extraordinary Tasman Arch. We also saw much of the Huon Valley countryside which was extremely picturesque. However, a personal favourite was the City of Hobart Big Sing Bonfire held in Salamanca Square. Hearing multiple a cappella groups from Australia, New Zealand and the USA was extremely inspiring and fun! All of us had a truly enriching experience – a week of friendship and music-making that we will never forget!
