Redeemer Shines at Logan District Swimming Carnival

Our swimmers did us proud and brought back the gold at the Logan District Swimming Carnival!

On Monday, 12 February, our swimmers were up early and arrived at the Logan Aquatic Centre to start their warm ups and prepared for a big day. The day was filled with enthusiastic swimmers and each one gave their best regardless of the heat. The participation was fantastic amongst our swimmers. There wasn’t one event that lacked support.

The sportsmanship shown by Redeemer, not only for our own school, but every other participating school, is something to be proud of.

All the swimmers swam their hearts out. A special mention goes out to our age champions:

  • 13 years: Monica Svarc
  • 14 years: Griffin Howlett
  • 15 years: Jackson Clarke
  • 16 years: Claire Kenny

Thank you to all the parents that came to support the day. It is truly appreciated. Swimmers are reminded of the GBC carnival and training sessions Friday mornings at 7:00 – 8:00am.

We have to congratulate a shining star, Yasmine Devere (Year 9), who broke an astounding three school records during the school carnival. We are excited to watch her shine the rest of this season. Here are her beautiful times:

  • 100m Freestyle 1:03.72 sec.
  • 50 m Freestyle 29.08 sec.
  • 50 m Butterfly 30.93 sec.

Once again congratulations to each and every swimmer and thank you for making your school and community proud. If this carnival was anything to go by, we are up for a very exciting time ahead this season.
