National Youth Wind Ensemble of Scotland Exchange Program

Rylan Malcolm (Year 12) auditioned for the 2020 Young Conservatorium program, run through the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University. He was placed in several ensembles on both instruments and, because of his exceptional audition, Rylan was identified as someone who is of a level to audition for the National Youth Wind Ensemble of Scotland (NYWES) exchange program.

Rylan auditioned and applied for this program on the euphonium, and was successful!

The National Youth Wind Ensemble of Scotland Exchange Program is offered to 10 students from the Young Conservatorium program, so Rylan is in a very small and elite group of Queensland students. The program is scheduled to run from the 7-20 July, 2020, and is held at the Royal Conservatoire in Glasgow.

This is something to celebrate. We’re extremely proud of Rylan because he’s a terrific team-player and a truly dedicated member of our College ensembles. This year, Rylan is a member of Redeemer’s Wind Orchestra, Stage Band, The Fellas, Redeemer Chorale and Senior Singers.

Rylan is hoping to study Music at the Queensland Conservatorium from 2021.
