Outside School Hours Care Director – Full Time Fixed Term

Redeemer Lutheran College is seeking an experienced Outside School Hours Care Director to take on this full-time fixed term position, commencing as soon as possible and concluding April 2027, with the possibility of an extension.

The OSHC Director is a part of a team of professionals, whose role is to nurture, strengthen, guide and encourage the educators working within the service. It is expected that the incumbent will conduct their work in an atmosphere of Christian service in support of the ethos of Redeemer Lutheran College (the college) and Lutheran Education Queensland (LEQ). All LEQ service leaders are expected to support each other in this expanding area and develop a team spirit of cooperation and collaboration.

Redeemer is a co-educational Christian school owned and operated by the Lutheran Church of Australia, Queensland District. About the role:

The work involves the day-to-day operation and oversight of the service, to ensure a quality program is offered, partnerships with community are developed and maintained, enrolments are high, and all physical environments, facilities, programs and materials are monitored whilst appropriate professional behaviour is also modelled.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum two years’ experience working in an OSHC, school, and/or childcare setting, including experience in a leadership or mentorship position.
  • Experience working with the National Quality Standards and My Time, Our Place documents.
  • Interest in leading and mentoring other educators.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of WH&S requirements within an OSHC setting.
  • Attention to detail, especially when creating and formatting digital documentation.
  • Sense of imagination, fun and creativity, with a genuine love for working with young people and supporting their growth.
  • The ability to work unsupervised.
  • Support the Christian Ethos of the College.

  • SC1: Demonstrated ability to lead an OSHC service in line with legislation, policy, and quality standards, ensuring effective operations, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • SC2: Proven capability to prioritise children’s safety and wellbeing through robust supervision, proactive risk management, accurate reporting, and restorative practices.
  • SC3: Ability to design and deliver a balanced, inclusive OSHC program responsive to local community needs, while fostering strong relationships with children, families, staff, and the wider community.
  • SC4: Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication capabilities, with strong interpersonal skills to develop supportive and responsive relationships with educators, children, families, and other stakeholders.
