Human Resources Manager

Responsible to the Principal, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for supporting the College to recruit, develop and retain the best possible staff, whilst reducing corporate risk by ensuring compliance with human resources, industrial relations, policy and procedure requirements.

Redeemer is a co-educational Christian school owned and operated by the Lutheran Church of Australia, Queensland District. The College is situated in Rochedale on Brisbane's south side, about 20km from the CBD, about 55km from the Gold Coast, and is easily accessible by the Pacific Highway and the Gateway Motorway.

Skills and experience:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business and commerce is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Human Resources Management role.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing complex HR advice preferably in an independent school environment.
  • Experience in the successful implementation of contemporary HRM practices.

Your response should address the following selection criteria:

  • SC.1 Demonstrated high level experience in Human Resource management with a proven capacity to support the Senior Executive Team through effective management of the HR function.
  • SC.2 Demonstrated high level competency and understanding, or capacity to manage a HRIS, internal controls, policy, procedures, guidelines and employment conditions relevant to staff.
  • SC.3 Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication capabilities, along with advanced interpersonal skills that include a capacity to develop constructive relationships with staff, students, parents, and the wider community.
  • SC.4 Knowledge of employment law, preferably in an Independent Schools environment.
  • SC.5 Willingness to support the Christian Ethos of the College.
