Redeemer's weekly newsletter

“The sense of community at Redeemer made my decision an easy one. The college emphasis and priority on keeping the parents informed is a pleasant comfort and I have been impressed with their ability to carry it forward throughout the year. I have and will continue to encourage others, to give the Redeemer education, worthy consideration.”

Early Years Program (Prep-Year 2)

Our Early Years Program serves to provide our younger students with opportunities to learn and grow in a safe, caring and nurturing environment. Students are taught and guided in their learning by specialist Early Childhood trained teachers.

All of our Prep classes benefit from the work of full-time Teacher Assistants. Our Year 1 and Year 2 classes also benefit from specific Teacher Assistants working across the cohort. Each of our Teacher Assistants work closely with our classroom teachers to provide extra support and care for our students.

Our Prep to Year 2 classrooms are spacious in design, have areas for creative play, messy play, quiet corners for independent learning and work and are fully air-conditioned.

Our Early Years program focuses heavily on:

  • Literacy
  • Numeracy
  • Fine and Gross Motor Development
  • Social learning
  • Handwriting
  • Face to face communication and
  • Tactile learning

2016 saw the introduction of BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). In the Prep – Year 2 classes students are asked to bring a tablet device, with the iPad recommended. Devices are used in the classroom to consolidate learning of concepts through the integration of technology.
