World’s Greatest Shave and Ponytail Project Fundraiser Event 2022

On Wednesday 5 October, 30 courageous Year 12 students and one very brave staff member were supported by the College community as they put their heads on the line for a very worthy fundraiser event!

Ms Paige Stiller and students, Rhys Thurstun, Ashton Froes, Jack Sendall, Charlie Harris, Ryan Brown and Patrick Mienert had their heads shaved as part of the World’s Greatest Shave campaign, together raising $3,420 towards the incredible work of the Leukaemia Foundation.

Additionally, 24 students had their ponytails snipped, raising an impressive $10,784 as part of the Cancer Council Ponytails Project, where funds support people living with cancer and ponytails are donated to be made into wigs for cancer patients.

Led by and including our 2022 Community Service Captains, Elizabeth Ducke and Mykaelah Ludcke, the students who participated in “sister snips” were Namreetha Arul Prakash, Sonal Chand, Ava Connors, Jasmine Cox, Mackenzie Cuthbert, Taylor Drake, Abbey Endres, Catherine Ju, Simarleen Kaur, Johanna Kaye, Ann Kim, Leila Koppens, Katrina Lee, Jessica Lin, Rebecca Reid, Anjlee Suri, Maddy Vela, Angel Wang, Mia White, Neo Yang, Amy Yoon and Yaqi Zheng.

A special thanks to the hairdressing team from MIG Training who shaved heads and chopped ponytails on the day, and to the 2022 Community Service Captains and all involved in making the event a success for another year in a row!

Well done to all volunteers for your willingness to participate, and efforts in raising funds for these wonderful organisations.
