Industrial Technology Teacher Assistant (Permanent Position)

The Industrial Technology Teacher Assistant is a supportive administrator to the Industrial Technology Department staff and students. Under the direction of the Head of Department – Industrial Technology (7-12), the Teacher Assistant has a key role in providing operational support in the day to day running of the facilities.

This position is a permanent term time+ (32 hrs per week, 42 weeks per calendar year), working Monday to Thursday – 8.00am to 4.30pm.

About the role:

The position includes (but is not limited to) the following:-

  • Order and purchasing of material for the department;
  • Prepare materials as required by the teaching staff;
  • Maintenance of equipment, tools and machinery in workshops;
  • Tracking of safety requirements for the department;
  • Assist in classroom as required by teaching staff;
  • Willingness to contribute to diverse and inclusive communities and accept the responsibility to uphold the Christian Ethos of the College.

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge and practices, in relation to use and maintenance of workshop and building tools, machinery and equipment;
  • Display confidence with CAD/CAM technology;
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to meet student and staff requirements in the department;
  • Experience in a school setting would be desirable;
  • A high level of attention to details
  • A high level of organisation and time management skills;
  • Personal integrity and ability to deal with sensitive and/or political issues with discretion, tact, diplomacy and good judgement.
