Tuckshop Cook/Assistant | Casual

Redeemer Lutheran College is seeking to appoint a Tuckshop Cook/Assistant, who can work on a casual basis, and be called in at short notice, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 12.30pm, no night work, or weekend work, to commence as soon as possible. The Tuckshop team are a proud team of staff and volunteers who understand the importance of healthy well balanced eating for our students, staff and visitors.

As part of our Tuckshop team your duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Preparation of food according to our healthy food philosophy
  • Preparation of food in accordance with our Food Safety Plan
  • Compilation and organisation of online Tuckshop orders
  • Assist the Tuckshop Manager with accurate record keeping in accordance with our Food Safety Plan
  • Cleaning and maintenance of a commercial kitchen to a high standard
  • Customer service and engaging with the students
  • Other duties as directed by the Tuckshop Manager

The successful applicant will have the following skills and qualities:

  • A love of preparing and cooking healthy foods that our students, staff and visitors will enjoy
  • High energy and stamina
  • Willingness to comply with and work within parameters of the college Food Safety Plan
  • Previous experience working in a tuckshop or commercial kitchen will be highly regarded
  • Previous experience with cashless / online ordering systems
  • Computer knowledge, specifically Excel
  • Experience in customer service related position will be highly regarded but not essential
  • The ability to suggest and prepare new menu items
  • Food safety certificate or willingness to complete course
  • Sound organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment
  • Maintain a high level of personal and professional presentation at all times
  • Be positive in support of the college's traditions and Christian ethos
